I have been farming in Fairlie for most of my working life and involved in community affairs for many years. Some of these committees have been:

  • Chairman, Fairlie Primary School PTA and BOT
  • Deputy Chairman, Timaru Girl's High School BOT
  • Convener of Wool Section, Fairlie A & P Show Association
  • Past Chairman, Fairlie Basin, Noxious Weeds Committee
  • Chairman of Finance Committee during the building of the Fairlie Community Centre

Currently: Allandale Water Scheme Committee member, involved with the recent and continuing upgrade.

Current leisure activities are family, jet boating, assisting annually with rowing regattas at Lake Ruataniwha, a member of the Mackenzie Lodge and the Mackenzie Co-operating Parish.

My vision for the Mackenzie District is that it needs to foster the development of tourism, recreation and farming.

In addition to this, I believe that the existing district assets should be managed prudently.
