RID

S/O

Request

Reason

1

Rosemary Anderson

1

O

To have Aorangi Crescent remain as a Passive recreation area and plant trees to replace the trees that are being cut down.

There is a strong need to keep areas of peace and quiet, especially for future generations.

2.

A.W Design Ltd

1

S

That the Council adopt Plan Change 2 with no alterations to it.

Would be a tremendous asset to the area if community facilities were expanded.  This will cater for the eventual growth of more permanent residents.

3

Canterbury Regional Council

1

S

That the changes, as proposed, be incorporated into the Mackenzie District Plan

These amendments are broadly consistent with the Lake Tekapo Development Plan.  The changes provide greater certainly and direction as to the nature and scale of development anticipated for the area.

4

Maryrose Fowlie

1

O

Retain the Passive open space or set one aside in the new Mt John subdivision.

If the rezoning goes ahead there will be no open space left for people to enjoy on this side of town.

5

Michael Habberfield-Short

1

O

To keep the present passive zoning of the park in Aorangi Crescent.

If the change goes ahead there will be:

1.              An increase in traffic congestion due to cars parking in the street

2.              Increase in traffic flows from events being held in the area

3.              Increase in noise pollution from late night events

4.              Destruction of pleasant tranquil outlooks from construction of large buildings

5.              Construction of large industrial style buildings catering for crowds

6.              Increase in petty theft and vandalism as a result of larger communities.

6

Lake Tekapo Community Board

1

S

That Plan Change 2 be adopted.

The Board supports in principle this proposed plan change.

7

Lake Tekapo Enterprises Limited

1

S

That the area the Community Hall in Aorangi Crescent is rezoned from Rec P to Rec A.

8

Michael Midgley

1

O

Keep any Rec P in the village that is already existing.

Rec P areas are shrinking and need to hold on to these areas.  Council takes money from development to provide areas such as Rec P so we need them provided.

9

Erin Norman

1

O

The Council should be looking at a larger area of Recreational A Zone than Aorangi Crescent.

1.              Parking is a problem in Aorangi Crescent and park of the existing Rec P area would be needed for off street parking.

2.              The turn around area in Aorangi Crescent would need widening.

10

Anne Patterson

1

O

Rezone only a portion of Aorangi Crescent Rec A and leave the rest Rec P.

1.              Possibility of losing attractive park with established tress to buildings and car parks.

2.              Town only has 3 small Rec P parks in residential areas and they are important to residents.

11

Biddy Satterthwaite

1

O

That no part of the reserve is sold.  Do not rezone area.

1.              Long term residents have assumed that the reserve was not to be encroached by development.

2.              The area has future potential for 4 astro-turf tennis courts, recreation hall, outdoor play area for children.

12

Ian Satterthwaite

1

O

That Aorangi Crescent remain Rec P zone.

Leave the trees, open space, tennis courts, we are the neighbours.  Have owned property for 40 years and want to see the domain remain completely untouched.

13

Karen Simpson

1

S

Adopt Plan Change 2.

A good idea go for it.

14

Raymond Tansey

1

O

That the area should remain zoned as is.

The Council does not spell out why they want the rezoning.

15

Wilhelmina van den Bosch

1

O

Guarantee open space if it is rezoned Rec A.

Keep open space, preserve character.
