Lochie Foote was studying Gateway, working with Josh and the team at Engine Performance Specialists (EPS), when he decided that being a mechanic was his future.
Josh Coochey, owner of EPS and Leaine Rush, Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) coordinator, had a discussion around the possibility of financial assistance for Lochie. EPS were successful in their application to receive funding from MTFJ for Lochie’s tools and future training.
Lochie also has gained his restricted driver license with assistance from MTFJ, with driving lessons taking place in Timaru.
Josh is pleased that Lochie has joined the team at EPS, and Lochie is charging ahead with his apprenticeship paperwork.
Mayor Graham recently visited Lochie on the job and reveled in the impressive tool kit that he received with the MTFJ funding.
MTFJ and Mayor Graham wish Lochie every success with his apprenticeship, and we are lucky to have kept Lochie in our district, building the local skill set.
