Bruce ScottThe Mackenzie District Council recognises the contribution of the late Bruce Scott by way of an annual prize to be awarded to a senior secondary student, resident of the Mackenzie District, who best exhibits sustained effort and application in all that they do and who always demonstrates good citizenship, practical skills and leadership potential.

Bruce was brought up and farmed on Godley Peaks Station for many years and was a former Councillor, County Chairman and the inaugural Mayor of the Mackenzie District.

The prize is awarded to the senior secondary student of the Mackenzie District who best exhibits sustained effort and application in all that they do and who always demonstrates good citizenship, practical skills and leadership potential.

The prize which is awarded annually, will be presented at the final meeting of the Council on 14 December 2021, will consist of book vouchers up to the value of $250.

Applications close 5:00pm on 10 November 2021.

Application forms can be downloaded below or collected from our offices in Fairlie or Twizel. Students from Mackenzie College and Twizel Area School can obtain an application form from their school office.

Applications must be on the prescribed form and received no later than 5pm on Wednesday 27 October 2021. Applicants may be called for an interview.

Completed application forms can be posted to sam.molyneux@mackenzie.govt.nz or posted (Mackenzie District Council, PO Box 52, Fairlie, 7949) to arrive before the deadline.
