The purpose of the Chief Executive Performance Committee is to review the performance of the Chief Executive annually and undertake the legislative requirements in relation to the Chief Executive’s performance. The legislative basis for this committee is Schedule 7 clause 30 (1) (a), Local Government Act 2002.

The Finance committee is responsible for overseeing the council’s financial management and ensuring transparency and accountability in budgeting and expenditure.

Functions include:

• Reviewing financial reports and performance: Monitoring revenue, expenditure, and variances against the annual budget.
• Advising on financial strategy and policies: Providing recommendations on long-term financial planning, debt management, and investment policies.
• Monitoring compliance: Of Council Debt and Investment management to policy.

The Water Services Committee oversees the three waters — drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater network assets. It is responsible for setting strategic direction and monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and reviewing financial sustainability and infrastructure investment across the network.
