Mayors Taskforce for Jobs - Lochie Smith - Adam Chitty Building

It was an opportunistic meeting at the Fairlie Bakehouse that led to Lochie Smith securing a labouring position with Adam Chitty Building.

Lochie had contacted Leaine Rush, Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) coordinator, wanting to secure a building apprenticeship. He was keen to gain a formal qualification under his belt to secure his future.

Adam had just lost an employee and was keen to take another labourer under his wings.

Lochie has embraced this opportunity and working hard with the hope that Adam will offer him a building apprenticeship. Adam has been impressed with Lochie’s ability and work ethic.

Mayor Graham visited Adam and Lochie on site and had a great discussion about Lochie and his future plans.

Lochie has recently gained his restricted driver license with assistance from MTFJ, so that he can drive himself to and from work legally.

MTFJ and Mayor Graham are hopeful that Lochie will secure an apprenticeship and add to the ever growing number of quality builders in the Mackenzie District.
