Because of safety concerns, we have asked the public to stay out of the hill area on the western side of Ohau Road, Twizel.
There are improvement works planned for this area, however there are still currently significant risks from falling trees and loose rocks to people using the area and the footpath and road below.
For these reasons, this area remains closed to protect public safety.
We are in the process of developing Man Made Hill in Twizel and the finished design includes provision for bikes and walkers.
