Public notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 that the Rating Information Database for the Mackenzie District is available for inspection.
Inspection can be made by all members of the public, without fee, during ordinary office hours at the District Council Office, 52 Main Street Fairlie.
The Rating Information Database (RID) is a list of information that is used to set and assess rates on a particular rating unit by Mackenzie District Council and Environment Canterbury.
The RID is prepared in accordance with the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, and is similar to and takes the place of the Valuation Rolls that have traditionally been available for public viewing.
The copy of the RID that is made available for public inspection does not include the name of any person (unless it is necessary to identify the rating unit) or any address other than the street address of the rating unit.
