Hakataramea Pass Road and Mackenzie Pass Road are closed to traffic due to the recent snowfall. Teams from Fulton Hogan are grading the roads for reopening.

Coal Pit Road bridge is closed to traffic from Monday 26 May to Thursday 24 July 2025 for bridge repair work.

Tekapo Canal Road bridge, Tekapo - Tuesday 3 June 2025 for approximately two weeks (Monday 17 June)

Genesis advises that the Tekapo Canal Road is closed at the canal bridge from Tuesday 3 June 2025 for approximately two weeks for bridge repair work. The canal bridge will be closed to motorists, though will still have access for foot and bike traffic.

There is alternative access to the Tekapo River for 4wd vehicles only via the Lake Pukaki spillway.
