State Highway 8 (Timaru – Fairlie) - 25/4/2024

State Highway 8 (Timaru – Fairlie) will be closed for short periods within Fairlie during the morning of Thursday 25 April to allow the ANZAC Day parade to march to and from the cenotaph.

The following side roads will be closed at their junctions with the state highway.

• School Road
• Talbot Road
• Regent Street
• Princes Street

Access to Kirke Street may also be affected.

Traffic will be controlled by a temporary traffic light system.

The closures will start from approximately 10.15am, lasting for up to 30 minutes. Traffic management will be in place, and we ask all motorists in the area during this time to be patient and adjust your travel times if necessary.

Raincliff, Middle Valley, Cricklewood and Albury Areas - Saturday 11 May 2024

The following Mackenzie District roads will be closed for the 2024 Rally of South Canterbury, taking place on Saturday 11 May 2024.

Middle Valley (Stage 5) - 11:15am – 3:15pm

• Middle Valley Rd - From Gudex Rd to State Highway 79

Raincliff (Stage 6) - 11:35am – 3.35pm

• Spur Rd - From Tondros Rd to Rockwood Rd
• Rockwood Rd - From Spur Rd to Opihi River (MDC boundary)

Cricklewood and Albury area (Stage 7) - 12:50pm – 4:50pm

• Cricklewood Rd - From State Highway 8 to Limestone Valley Rd
• Limestone Valley Rd - From Cricklewood Rd to Coal Pit Rd
• Coal Pit Rd - From Limestone Valley Rd to Chamberlain Rd
• Chamberlain Rd - From Coal Pit Rd to Rutherford Rd
• Rutherford Rd - From Chamberlain Rd to Mount Nessing Rd

Each section will only be closed while the race is run then reopened. We apologise for any inconvenience while the rally is taking place.

Footpath Resurfacing – Tasman Rd, Wairepo Rd, Pukaki Pl and Ostler Rd, Twizel - Tuesday 30 April to Friday 3 May 2024

Footpath Resurfacing work is taking place on Tasman Rd, Wairepo Rd, Pukaki Pl and Ostler Rd, Twizel, from Tuesday 30 April to Friday 3 May 2024 by council contractors.

There will be periods of time where car parking is unavailable while the work is taking place, and short periods of delays of 5-10 minutes for householders accessing their driveways.

Rubbish bin collections will take place as normal.
