The Helen Clark Foundation is undertaking a policy research project on central government tax incentives for private philanthropy for museums and galleries. In that context, we are looking at current funding arrangements for public museums and galleries in New Zealand. We request the following information to inform our research:
- The amount of funding your Council has provided to public museums and galleries for each of the last 10 financial years – Nil
- The amount (if any) allocated specifically for acquisitions of art and other items for
museums and galleries for each of the last 10 financial years – Nil - The two amounts above as a percentage of total Council spending for each financial year – N/A
