Information requested about Council-owned land currently leased to Connexa.
Request:
Provide details for: income received from Connexa and previously Spark *for the past 10 calendar years (January to December) incl the part year to Jun 26, for the lease or sublease of any Council owned land used for phone towers, income broken down by 'per site per year'.
Response:
Council does receive rental/license income from Connexa and previously Spark in relation to land leased for cell towers. The only cell tower Council receives rental income for is located in Tekapo. The amount of such rent is subject to a confidentiality clause in the lease agreement, and is commercially sensitive. We have sought Connexa’s consent to disclose the rental or an indication of the rental amount. Connexa have not consented to such disclosure.
Therefore we are withholding this information under section 7(2)(b)(i) & (ii) to protect information where the making available of the information—would disclose a trade secret; and would be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the information.
