Requested information about the Process Engineered Fuel Company.
Request:
For the period 1 January 2021 to the present, please provide:
- Any correspondence, communications, meeting records, reports or briefings held by Council involving or referring to Carl Storm, Vin Smith, PEFCO / Process Engineered Fuel Company / PEFCO NZ Ltd, Waste Investments Ltd, The Dump Ltd, Pacific Waste Holdings Ltd, Waste2Energy / WASTE2ENERGY Ltd, WasteCo, WastAway, SIRRL / South Island Resource Recovery Limited, or REL / Renew Energy Limited, concerning the potential supply, aggregation, collection, processing or transportation of municipal waste for a waste-to-energy or waste-to-fuel proposal.
- Any agreement or proposed arrangement involving any of the above parties concerning the supply or availability of municipal waste, including any waste supply agreement, MOU, heads of agreement, letter of intent, term sheet, draft agreement, indication of available waste volumes, or other binding or non-binding arrangement.
- Any Council report, briefing, meeting record or internal recommendation concerning the potential supply of municipal waste to, or Council participation in, a waste-to-energy or waste-to-fuel proposal involving any of the above parties.
Response:
Mackenzie District Council has not received from, or communicated with, PEFCO other than MDC Solid Waste Officer having had an informal conversation with Carl Storm at a waste event. MDC staff have not seen the power point presentation supplied before.
Therefore, as there is no information to supply, the request is refused under section 17(g) of LGOIMA - that the information requested is not held by the local authority.
