The Tekapo Community Board was presented with the New Zealand Sunshine Cup on 25 March in recognition of Tekapo being the sunniest town in the country in 2023.
The cup was first awarded in 2010 by the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and is passed to the winning town each year.
Members of the board are (left to right) Sharron Binns, Matt Murphy (Mackenzie District Councillor - Tekapo ward), Steve Howes, Caroll Simcox and Stephanie Hagen.
