Voting papers set to hit mailboxes this week

The voting period has officially opened today and everyone enrolled to vote will be receiving their voting documents by post in the coming weeks. Everyone should receive their voting papers by 22 September

We have been busy placing orange ballot bins in easy-to-visit locations around the district. Once you receive your voting papers you can cast your vote any time, either by post, or by popping it in to one of our ballot bins. These bins can take your vote right up to noon (12.00pm) on election day, Saturday 11 October. If you want to post your vote, it must be in the postal system by Tuesday 7 October.

If you need to cast a special vote, please visit our office in Fairlie, or the one in Twizel during normal business hours.

You can find our orange ‘Vote’ bins in:

  • Mackenzie Four Square (Twizel),
  • Twizel Four Square,
  • Kiwi Treasures in Tekapo, and
  • Fairlie Four Square

We also have a ballot box in both our council offices. You can drop your vote into any of these places, as well as using the postal system.
