Council’s contractors will be inspecting and cleaning a key section of the Twizel sewer system between 12 and 16 January 2026. This work will involve water blasting and CCTV inspection of the sewer mains.
Affected properties have been notified by SJ Allen, who are the contractor carrying out the work.

- All of Dusky Place
- 17-44 Mackenzie Drive
- 262-322 Mackenzie Drive (even numbers only)
- 2-25 Hallewell Road
- 9,11,13 Preston Place
- 20 Ruataniwha Road
- 23-38 Simons Street
- 1,2, Omahau Crescent
- 13-25 Bendrose Place (odd numbers only)
What you need to do
There is a small risk that the increased pressure in the pipes could cause air locks which might result in some water splash from the toilet bowl. If you are in one of the houses affected by this work, we recommend that toilet seats are kept closed and a towel or heavy item placed on the lid, when not in use.
