Mackenzie District Mayor, Scott Aronsen, will be taking leave for a period of two weeks from 29 January 2026 to undergo elective surgery.
During Mayor Aronsen’s absence, Deputy Mayor Rit Fisher will be appointed as Acting Mayor and will carry out the mayoral duties and responsibilities during this period.
Mayor Aronsen is expected to resume his duties two weeks after his surgery. Following his return, he will work remotely for a further six to eight weeks while completing his recovery.
The Mackenzie District Council extends its best wishes to Mayor Aronsen for a successful procedure and a smooth recovery.
