Matariki office closures

Council offices at Fairlie and Twizel, and Twizel NZ Post Centre are closed on Friday 14 July 2023 for Matariki.

Dog Registrations are coming – but not quite yet

It’s that time of year again – when our canine friends get their nice new (yellow) council tags. Because the fees and charges for this financial year are adopted with the Annual Plan at the end of June, it takes a bit of time after that to update our system, generate and post the invoices.

Lake Alexandrina Tree Works start 17 July

Water levels at Lake Alexandrina have been slowly rising over the last few years with the increase in willow root growth at the outlet, which has congested the creek, restricting water flow.

Greta Lodge - Register your interest

Greta Lodge is a historic hut situated alongside Lake Ohau with a long and varied history. The Twizel Community Board have recently decided to offer the hut to a club or community group.

Plan Change 22 - Light

Public notice is hereby given that at an ordinary Council meeting held on 27th June 2023, the Mackenzie District Council formally approved Plan Change 22 to the Mackenzie District Plan in accordance with Clause 17(2) Schedule 1 to the Resource Management Act 1991 (the Act).
