Lake Tekapo Wildfire Prompts Strong Warning about Risk
A wildfire at Lake Tekapo on Tuesday 1 November has prompted a strong warning for landowners to make sure any old land management fires are completely extinguished.
Lake Ruataniwha Draft Reserve Management Plan
Ruataniwha Recreation Reserve comprises of 68.77ha of land classified as recreation reserve under the Reserves Act 1977. Mackenzie District Council has prepared reserve management plan for reserve and in accordance with section 41 of the Reserves Act 1977 and invites the public to submit written suggestions on the draft plan.

The New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects recently held their 50th Bi-annual Conference in Auckland. Mackenzie District Council, along with project partners Waka Kotahi and WSP (previously Opus), won an award in the Enduring Landscape category.
