Information relating to fluoridation of Fairlie water (Our ref. 880)
In reply to your letter dated 25th November, from the water team below.
Mackenzie District Council request for information regarding fluoridation of Fairlie Water
1.) – Does MDC already fluoridate Fairlie’s drinking water/ has a date been set for this, if not already.
No, MDC do not fluoridate the Fairlie water supply or any of our water.
2.) – What type of fluoride will MDC buy (or is already) to fluoridate Fairlies drinking water – will it be Fluorosilicate (NasiF6) or Fluorosilicic Acid (H2SiF6) or another substance?

3.) – Where will (or is) it be stored.
Not applicable, as per question one.
3a.) – How will it be transported
Not applicable, as per question one.
4.) – Has it (the fluoride) been given a ‘Certificate of Safety’ eg – Safe for human consumptions. And when, and which body was the issuing agent, supplying the certificate?
5.) – Who is to be made responsible for compensation should adverse reactions to any aspect of the fluoridation of the drinking water_by humans_for humans.
6.) – Please supply a listing of all toxic ingredients and their amounts in the fluoridation mixture. That MDC is or will use, to fluoridate Fairlie’s drinking water.
In response to the above questions four to six, as Mackenzie District Council does not fluoridate the water supply this information is not available to be supplied and under the LGOIMA there is no obligation on an agency to form an opinion or create information to answer a request.
