We have decided to release the information you have requested; - please see our answers below, in blue, from the water team and supplied on behalf of the GM Operations.

Request:

Under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, I request the following information relating to Twizel’s drinking water supply from 1 January 2024 to present:

1. All raw and treated drinking water quality test results, including testing for E. coli, nitrate, arsenic, chlorine residual, turbidity, heavy metals, and protozoa.

Please refer to the following documents:

2. All complaints, reports, or communications received from residents, contractors, consultants, elected members, or public agencies regarding the safety, quality, taste, odour, colour, or reliability of Twizel drinking water.

The requested information is held within two service requests systems.  MDC has moved to a new service request system in the last 12 months therefore the reporting available from each system is slightly different.  We are supplying the information in spreadsheet form as this is what is available through the reporting system for service requests. In doing so we are trying to balance supplying the information and protecting the privacy of those making the request.  Names and specific addresses have been removed to protect privacy in these reports.

Individual requests can be made available although staff time would be required to extract each request, redact and then supply.  If the aggregated supply of this information, with brief reasons, does not suffice for your requested information please let us know and we can then supply an estimation of costs to supply individual requests.

Please refer to the following documents:
