The Creative Communities Fund supports and encourages arts activities within the Mackenzie District. The first Creative NZ Mackenzie District funding round for 2025/2026 is open, closing on Wednesday 27 August 2025.
The Twizel community library is currently operated by Twizel Area School under a contract from Mackenzie District Council. The Ministry of Education is constructing a new school for Twizel, and once the new school building is operational, the school will not be able to continue to provide library services for the community.
Mackenzie District Council has confirmed the candidate nominations for the 2025 local elections.
