LOCAL ROAD CLOSURES
The following council roads are now closed:
- Mackenzie Pass
- Hakataramea Pass
- Rollesby Valley Road (Burkes Pass)
- Waratah Road (Burkes Pass)

CLOSED ROADS
PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE ON CLOSED ROADS
This is a prolonged water event, and we are expecting more rain and snow in the coming days. Ideally, if you can, please avoid travelling on the roads in bad weather.
If you must travel, there are some things you can do to prepare:
- fully charge your phone before you travel
- stock your car for an emergency with items like blankets, gloves, hats, torches, first aid kit, tools, snacks and drinks,
- always carry a plastic window ice scraper.

Please do not drive on closed roads, even if you are confident in the capabilities of yourself and your vehicle. Don’t forget – if you have an accident while you are driving on a closed road, you may not be insured.
