Mackenzie District Council - Further Notice of Election and Declaration of Elected Candidates
Nominations have closed for the 2022 triennial local authority elections. Where elections are required, they will be conducted by postal voting using the First Past the Post (FPP) electoral system. Voting will open on Friday 16 September 2022 and will close at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022.

Cat Trapping – Lake Ruataniwha, Max Smith Drive
Feral cats have been spotted at the top end of Lake Ruataniwha. These are a pest which which poses a significant risk to native birdlife in the area.

Pest control night shooting - Tekapo area

District Plan - Stage 2 – Spatial Plan Implementation (Plan Change 21) and Lighting (Plan Change 22) - Preferred Approach
Mackenzie District Council has been working through a ‘preferred approach’ process for the urban zones which forms Stage 2 of the District Plan Review. Stage 2 gives effect to the Spatial Plans for the district and also addresses light controls. These topics will form Plan Changes 21 and 22 to the Mackenzie District Plan.
